Partially accessible

Casa Milà (La Pedrera)

Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona · Last verified Oct 2026

Lifts and ramps connect the courtyards, the Tenants' Apartment and the attic, but the rooftop is too uneven for wheelchairs and chairs wider than 63 cm need to be arranged in advance.

La Pedrera describes its visit as partially accessible for wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility. Lifts and ramps connect the floors, and the courtyards, the Tenants' Apartment and the Gaudí Space in the attic can be visited without obstacles. Visitor services staff accompany wheelchair users in the adapted lifts.

Two limits matter. The maximum width for a wheelchair is 63 cm, and anyone with a wider chair is asked to get in touch beforehand to discuss alternatives. And the rooftop is very uneven: the lift goes up and there is a platform at the exit, but wheelchairs cannot go beyond it, so the view from there is partial.

Adapted toilets are on the ground floor, in the Exhibition Hall on the main floor, in the Auditorium and in the Gaudí Hall. The exhibition hall is reached by lift from the main entrance through the Passeig de Gràcia courtyard, and portable seats can be borrowed there free of charge. A wheelchair loan service runs on prior booking and subject to availability.

Sensory resources are well developed. Videoguides are free at the desk before the lifts, with subtitles and with Catalan and Spanish Sign Language. A tactile model of the building stands in the corridor between the two courtyards, and tactile floor maps labelled in ink, relief and Braille are on the ground floor, the rooftop, the attic and the fourth floor. Because of the shape of the building, blind and partially sighted visitors are advised to come with a companion.
